Leaving a Mark on Campus and Beyond. Quintessence Fraternity has always been at the forefront of campus development. From the construction and 2019 refurbishment of the University of Nigeria's taxi bay to the ongoing Love Garden project, we are committed to improving the quality of life on campus. Our efforts extend beyond physical projects—we also actively participate in community outreach programs, mentorship initiatives, and philanthropic activities that uplift society.
In 1991, Quintessence Fraternity Nigeria embarked on a significant project to improve transportation infrastructure at the University of Nigeria by constructing a taxi bay in front of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This initiative aimed to provide a designated and organized space for taxis, enhancing accessibility and convenience for students, staff, and visitors alike.
Key Highlights of the Taxi Bay Project:
- Strategic Location: Positioned in front of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the taxi bay has become a central transport hub, offering easy access to key academic buildings and nearby facilities.
- Enhancing Campus Transportation: The creation of the taxi bay alleviated transportation challenges by providing a reliable and easily accessible point for taxis, reducing congestion and streamlining movement around campus.
- Longevity and Durability: The original construction prioritized long-term sustainability, using high-quality materials that have allowed the bay to serve the university community for decades.
2019 Refurbishment:
Recognizing the need to maintain and modernize this important infrastructure, the fraternity undertook a major refurbishment of the taxi bay in 2019. This refurbishment included:
- Upgraded Facilities: The refurbishment improved the overall functionality of the taxi bay, incorporating modern design elements and reinforcing its durability.
- A Fresh Look: The 2019 updates gave the bay a fresh, contemporary appearance while preserving its role as a vital transportation hub on campus.
- Continued Legacy: By refurbishing the taxi bay, Quintessence Fraternity demonstrated its long-term commitment to the university and its community, ensuring that the bay continues to serve the needs of future generations.
The taxi bay remains a symbol of the fraternity’s dedication to providing practical solutions that improve everyday life for students and staff in the University
The fraternity is currently working on an ongoing project—the creation of a Love Garden within the University of Nigeria's Nsukka campus. This serene garden is designed as a peaceful space for relaxation, reflection, and connection with nature.
Vision for the Love Garden:
- Tranquil Environment: The Love Garden will offer students, faculty, and visitors a quiet space to relax and enjoy nature, providing a retreat from the demands of academic life.
- Symbol of Unity and Growth: True to Quintessence Fraternity’s principles, the garden symbolizes the nurturing of relationships and communal harmony. It embodies the fraternity's vision of leadership and unity, fostering a peaceful community spirit.
- Sustainability: The project is committed to environmental sustainability, using indigenous plants and eco-friendly landscaping practices that contribute to the university's green initiatives.
- Community Involvement: The fraternity has involved the university community in the planning and development of the Love Garden, promoting a sense of ownership and shared responsibility.
Once completed, the Love Garden will be a lasting testament to Quintessence Fraternity’s commitment to enhancing the University of Nigeria’s campus life, embodying our motto, ‘Leadership by Example.’
